Mexican Corn Bread

1 cup yellow corn meal
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp soda
2 eggs
1 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup oil
1 small chopped onion
4 hot peppers, chopped
1 cup cream corn
1/4 lb cheddar cheese, grated
4 strips bacon, cooked crisp and crumbled

Mix all together, stirring in the cheese last. Pour into hot greased iron skillet. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes.


Caution: the handwritten recipe also has... "oven 425" written on the side.
